In a recent court hearing in Reno, Drew Ribar, a local Constitutional Auditor, faced a temporary restraining order filed against him by a nonprofit homosexual advocacy group and a District Attorney lawyer. This conflict arose from a “Drag Queen Story Hour” event at Washoe County Library, which was criticized but was not open to dissenting community members. The defendants failed to present substantial evidence against Ribar, relying instead on emotional testimonies about their distress allegedly caused by his behavior.

During the proceedings, the judge appeared to show bias, allowing the defendants to attend via Zoom due to their claimed intimidation by Ribar, while he was present in court. After hearing their testimonies, the judge praised the defendants for their courage before Ribar could respond, ultimately deciding to maintain the restraining order against him pending further hearings.

Drew Ribar is known for his proactive stance against perceived governmental corruption and First Amendment violations over the past four years. He documents government misconduct through videos posted on his “Audit Reno 911” platform, exposing various unethical practices, including flawed policies at the DMV and issues with local law enforcement. His videos have gained significant traction, accumulating over 236,000 followers and motivating local residents to become more informed and involved.

Ribar emphasizes the importance of accountability, believing that public tax dollars should not support politically motivated agendas. Despite facing harassment and legal challenges himself, he remains committed to advocating for transparency and upholding constitutional rights for the citizens of Washoe County.
